If you are the sort of person who doesn't create a backup data for all your work and after being a photographer for over 6 years, your only external hard drive just simply dies on you, there is still hope! Last week, my External and only hard drive just stopped working, I tried everything but it just refused to work after being used for over 6 years and holding my entire Porfolio of 28,000 images.
After sulking and feeling down for two days, I started looking for a solution (I am quite dramatic, so I needed to feel sorry for myself) I came across this place and the reviews were incredible. I can tell you from experience and that big smile on me, they were absolutely true. Adam recovered all my data in less than 8 days. All of it! Don't risk your memory drive being looked by anyone else, just go for the best! Now, I am on my way to buy a backup so I won't have to see Adam again (I mean that) however if I do ever need to, I won't waste a single second of my life, I will just let Adam take care of it! 5 Star for service, communication and honesty!

When everyone tells you it cannot be repaired, take it here! I had an external hard drive which had burnt out as the wrong power supply had been used. 18 years of photos gone. I took it to several places and no one could fix it. Here they recovered 100% of the data in 3 days. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. I could not be happier or more thankful and now keep 2 copies of my data :

Great experience, 100% recommended! I dropped my hard drive with months of work on it for my PhD and personal data. I requested a quote from other companies in London and the average price was around 800 (the maximum a stunning 1200!). For the same service, with all the up to date techniques and tools, Data Recovery Direct managed to recover my precious data for a half of the price. The answer is simple, no overpricing! Waiting time was 3 working days (compared to the two weeks offered by other companies). I have been looking for a data recovery service everywhere and the prices at some places are ridiculous and with some places you get people taking advantage of you. Adam at data recovery direct was very professional, and honest from the beginning especially with the pricing. He recovered the data from my faulty hard drive which stopped working after using the wrong power cable.

I rang yesterday to find out if they can fix my wd cloud which I plugged in the wrong adapter and burned. I was given an estimate. I took it in the next day. Adam welcomed me with a nice smile and asked me to sit down. He took the drive and told me that he could fix it for only half price of what he estimated the day before and fixed it on the spot. 10 mins later I was on my way home. This kind of honesty and professionalism is extremely rare nowadays. If you want to be treated fairly and have your job done ASAP I would highly recommend you chose this company. Highly knowledgable honest and trustworthy saved my month!

I can 100% recommend this place for their excellent service and quick turn around on getting my Western Digital external Hard drive repaired for a very great price, considering the repair needed (replacing read/write) header. I got quoted 1300+ elsewhere to get my hard drive repaired, while Data Recovery Direct did it for 1/3 of the price, so I'm very grateful for their successful recovery of my data, whilst also keeping it affordable.
They provided me with update emails when they worked on my drive on every step and were nothing but helpful throughout all my communications with them, in person, email and phone. The staff are super friendly and will explain the process of the repair to make sure you know what is happening, especially if you are afraid of getting it repaired. They want to fix it as much as you do, because if they don't recover any data, it means no fee.
At least while I was there. I highly recommend this place! I honestly mean it. The only mistake I did was not going here first. Although I would also recommend on getting multiple quotes from different service providers if possible, especially when you get quoted such a high price elsewhere like I did.

Excellent service with constant communication. Yes the price is high, but being that my HD drive was broken, the only way to recover the data was via a data recovery specialist, they all charge around the same price. So fairs fair, its a great service.

Successfully recovered my data on a no recovery no fee basis against all the odds, for a third of the price quoted to me by another data recovery specialist. Had an initial diagnostic assessment on my 1TB WD hard drive at another specialist, who I thought from my research were the people to go to in London. This concluded the condition of my drive was very poor, with 10%-30% chance of successful recovery, 2 week turnaround time and huge cost if successful.
Because of the huge cost I started looking elsewhere and found these guys, who quoted me a third of the price and successfully recovered everything in less than a week. Also great, reliable customer service, with staff who went the extra mile at every turn!

Some recovery specialists will say one thing over the phone, and then hit you hard with price once they have your disk. Data Recovery Direct, on the other hand, talked through my problem, gave me a price, stuck to it even when the amount of data turned out to be more, and turned my disk around in 2 days. Needed data and precious photos recovered. Good people these, absolutely recommend.
