Triangle Computer Systems provides affordable and proficient computer support services from the Golden Triangle area of Norwich, Norfolk, UK.
Great IT support should be considered a 'justified expense.' We've all had vary experiences, or we may be new to asking someone for help. Just like paying a accountant to save on your tax bill, having quality IT support engineer who knows a lot about PC, Mac, Linux, Internet/web applications and 'cloud computing', can save a small fortune on call-out charges, software licencing and technical support over the short (and especially the long...!) run.
So, what do we do, exactly? Just like the hoards of IT service providers out there in Norwich (that you've likely stumbled across on your way here), we have an array of quirky computing services we provide to the public. In a lot of ways we are no different to the majority. We're perfectly pleasant and polite, can explain our services to you with a degree of understandable articulation and we answer our phone when you call. However, we are more of a 'there's devil in the detail' attitude to how traditional IT companies go about their day and make their money, rather than an agreeably acceptable "Hello Sir, Hello Madam, how can we help you, thank you, good day, please come again..." type of business. We don't have a 'Good Morning window' because of our hatred towards 'love at first sight' advertising. As a consumer of IT, you probably don't want that, we imagine swift support is very important, right...? As and when you need it? Plus the real advantage of knowledgeable company such as Triangle Computers is that honest advice from genuine yet cynical people who know a lot about the industry, and can digest and relay cost-effective solutions to you in small affordable chunks.
In our opinion, it really is worth calling or emailing a few local companies before you speak or email us. And bear in mind that just because others may refer to their service as 'simple', 'no-fuss' and/or 'jargon-free', in the IT world it's worth enquiring to see who offers you MORE for your money. After all, being the 'cheapest' is often just a sales tactic used by many companies with no real long-term customer view.
As a company, Triangle Computer Systems likes to think of itself somewhere between 'IT consultant' and 'IT support'. We think our great service claim is justified. We like PC, Mac and Linux equally. Because we're fiercely independent, we can appropriately inform you how to stop spending money on a range of needless software, or how to get better quotes on PC, Mac or Laptop upgrades versus visiting a massive superstore with extortionate margins to cover their twelve-acre warehouses full of perfectly attractive sales individuals who look good in company uniform, but would rather prove their jobs-worthiness to their line manager by selling you a new PC, Mac or the other 'huge markup' items such as Anti-virus software, printer cartridges and peripherals which you can get cheaper by far elsewhere. Justified expense?
There's also a lot we aim to do for all of our customers in the way of friendly encouragement and tuition too, whilst as part of a fix to your computer or as a separate visit. The aim in reality is to help those particularly nervous about modern computing and internet applications to empower themselves with a 'can-do' approach, aiming you to be in control and not be afraid to use the latest technology to your advantage and your wallet.
We've provided cross-platform Microsoft and Apple support for a number of years now (since 2006 as Triangle Computers and many years before whilst 'working for the man'). We know our stuff. We don't charge the earth. We'll come to your business or home with no additional call-out fee. We charge for our time in 1/2 hourly slots.
We offer a special rate in 2012 of no call-out charge in the Golden Triangle area, with completed support costs at £22.50 per 1/2 hour, plus very competitive rates outside of the area. Whilst we may not offer the 'de-facto cheapest' support in the area, what we do offer is a personal, timely service that's likely to save you a lot of cash and effort going elsewhere. We have extensive real-world solid computing knowledge to a varied PC, Mac and Linux client base in Norwich.
Students with a valid NUS card or proof they are studying at the UEA, City College or Norwich Arts School (now NUCA) can additionally receive a generous 15% off labour charges (regardless of where you are in Norwich).
Our experience in computing ranges from Microsoft operating systems such as Windows XP, Vista and 7, alongside Apple operating systems OS 9 to OS X 10.1 to 10.7 with Microsoft Office, Sage Accounting, Adobe, cloud services like Google Docs, a host of open-source software old and new. And much, much more for customers old, new and on-going. But what kinds of computers will run the latest games? We know the answers because we regularly build them for gamers, and we keep a beady eye on the markets for new developments.
If you'd like to edit photos and movies, we know our Windows Paint from our HDR Photoshop CS5.5 capabilities and our Windows Movie Maker from Apple's Final Cut Pro. If you'd like to record music for fun or professionally, we know that there's a massive dividing line (about a mile wide in all directions, capability-wise) between Windows Sound Recorder or Garageband versus the latest paid versions of Cubase or Reason on the PC, Logic Pro or Garageband on the Mac. Our tuition service can help save hours of head-scratching, searching in a forum for an answer, because we've probably been there, done that.
There really is a vast array of very free (eg. free financially, free from worry about being over-complicated for a beginner or average computer user and free from the worry of backing-up) software solutions out there. For example, half an hour of tuition with us teaching you how to use an 'open source' solution such as Open Office or Google Documents can literally save you hundreds of pounds in software licencing fees (versus buying the latest Microsoft Office 2010 for PC or 2011 for Mac). Whilst you could just as well ask another company to install Microsoft Office, we may be able to side-step the need for this overspend, meaning your home or business can save money for another laptop, or future computer upgrade.
If there is a problem that you need solving, it's worth just asking if we've had experience, it's likely we have.
