From Our Website
All our stock has been donated to us - we don't buy in equipment for resale. Using 3R-iT ensures that your IT waste is ethically disposed of or re-used where possible.
DOT-COMmunICaTions takes unemployed people on placements (from the Job Centre and the government's Work Programme) and we also accept volunteers. We teach our trainees, provide them with references and have been able to help several get back into employment. In conjunction with government schemes, we have also taught apprentices - all of whom subsequently found good jobs in the IT industry. We also offer Computer Skills courses for the elderly - please contact us for more information.
We sell refurbished equipment to Charities, not-for-profit Companies and to the Public in general. Sales to Charities and individuals on low incomes and benefits are discounted, and is some cases can donate equipment to start-up Charities or needy individuals - each case is considered on its merits. We've always made special provision for the older computer novice: currently we offer a complete (and effective) Windows 7 PC for £35 to anyone aged 60 or over. As a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher, we can supply Microsoft software at a much reduced cost, pre-installed on computers sold to Charities and to individuals on Low-Incomes and/or Training Schemes.
In the last five years there has been a huge increase in malicious software known as Malware. If it gets into your computer and spreads before you realize it is there, then you may be at risk of having your personal data compromized. We can try and save your existing setup by carrying out an intensive clean if it hasn't been too badly damaged, or provide a format and reinstall to clean the system.
