TomTom SatNav Repairs 22-50 upto 44.00 (TomTom Units) Damaged Screen Replacement - from £40.00 Faulty Speaker Replacement - from 22.50 Dead Battery Replacement - from 22.50 Motherboard Repairs (aka:The Green Light of Death) - from 44.00 So What is the 'Green Light of Death' ? Your SatNav battery is fully charged and you turn it on. Nothing happens, the screen is blank and there is no sound, but the little green light is lit up. This is usually caused by a power overload to your system. The most common cause is the 'Car Charger' having developed a fault and pushing 12volts through your SatNav instead of the permitted 5volts. Numerous chips on the Motherboard will have been blown/fried. Don't panic, they can be replaced. YOU MUST REPLACE YOUR CHARGER UNIT In some cases repairs to the motherboard are not possible. This will have been caused by excessive voltage displacement. You will be advised once an inspection has taken place.
